Recipe Information

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 15 minutes

Yield: 2 servings

Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

For the Salmon:

2 salmon steaks or fillets (about 180g each)

1 clove of garlic, minced

Juice of 1/2 a lemon

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon of olive oil

For the Passion Fruit Sauce:

Pulp of 1 fresh passion fruit (with seeds)

1 tablespoon of butter

1 tablespoon of honey (or sugar)

50 ml of water

A pinch of salt

Instructions

Season the Salmon: In a bowl, season the salmon fillets with the garlic, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Let them marinate for about 5 to 10 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.

Sear the Fish: Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the fillets (skin-side down, if applicable) in the pan and grill for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, until golden brown on the outside and tender on the inside. Remove and set aside on a warmed plate.

Prepare the sauce: In the same pan (no need to wash it), add the butter over low heat. Stir in the passion fruit pulp, honey, water, and a pinch of salt.

Reduce: Let it cook over low heat for about 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

Finish: Drizzle the hot sauce over the reserved salmon fillets and serve immediately.
