 Baked Tuna Pasta Recipe


Ingredients:


Pasta: 400g (approx. 14 oz) of short pasta like penne, fusilli, or macaroni.

Tuna: 2 to 3 cans of tuna in oil or brine (drained).

Sauce: 500ml (approx. 2 cups) of Béchamel sauce (white sauce).

Topping: 150g (approx. 1.5 cups) of shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese.

Seasoning: Salt, black pepper, and dried oregano to taste.

Garnish: Fresh basil leaves (as seen in the photo) or chopped parsley.





Instructions:


Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

Cook the pasta in boiling salted water for 1–2 minutes less than the package instructions (it should be al dente as it will finish cooking in the oven). Drain well.

Mix the cooked pasta with the drained tuna and about 2/3 of the Béchamel sauce in a large bowl. Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.

Transfer the mixture to a greased rectangular baking dish. Pour the remaining Béchamel sauce over the top and spread it evenly.

Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the surface.

Bake for about 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown (gratin).

Serve hot, garnished with a sprig of fresh basil
