'Queen Anne' and 'Sky Princess' Spend the Night in Funchal

Cruise ship traffic returned to the port of Funchal this Thursday with the arrival of two ships, the 'Queen Anne' and the 'Sky Princess', bringing 6,230 passengers and 2,571 crew members to the region.

The first to enter Funchal Bay was the 'Queen Anne', from Cunard Line, which docked at 6:45 am, coming from the British port of Southampton. On board were 2,784 passengers and 1,233 crew members. Managed by Blatas and commanded by the British David Peter Hudson, the ship will remain in Madeira overnight, departing this Friday at 7 pm, bound for Santa Cruz de Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.

Shortly after, at 8:10 am, it was the turn of the 'Sky Princess', from 'Princess Cruise Lines', to arrive in Funchal, also coming from Southampton. The ship was carrying 3,446 passengers and 1,338 crew members, also under the Blatas agency. The ship will remain docked at Pontinha until Friday at 4:30 PM, when it will also depart for Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

‘Queen Anne’ is at the beginning of a 14-day cruise departing from and returning to Southampton. After Madeira and Tenerife, the ship will make stops in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Arrecife, and La Coruña.

‘Sky Princess’ follows a similar itinerary, having already passed through La Coruña and Vigo, with the next stops in Santa Cruz de La Palma and Arrecife, before returning to Southampton, where it began its journey on November 2nd.

The activity at the port of Funchal continues on Saturday, with a highlight being the inaugural call of the ship ‘Disney Fantasy’, which will dock alongside the Costa Fortuna. Both are managed by Blatas.
