 Tuna Fusion Sandwich with Fries Recipe


Ingredients


(Serves 2 sandwiches)


: 1 can of canned tuna (drained, about 120-150g)

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

1 tablespoon mustard (optional, for a spicy touch)

1 tablespoon chopped onion (or chives)

1 tablespoon chopped parsley or cilantro (optional)

Salt and black pepper to taste

4 slices of sandwich bread (or bread of your choice)

4 slices of mozzarella cheese (or cheddar, for melting)

Butter or margarine for greasing the bread

Lettuce or arugula leaves (optional, for freshness)




Instructions


Prepare the tuna filling: In a bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, and mustard (if using). the onion and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.


Assemble the sandwich:


Butter one side of each slice of bread (the side that goes in the pan).

On the unbuttered side of 2 slices, spread a generous portion of the tuna mixture.


Add


2 slices of cheese on top of the tuna and, if desired, lettuce or arugula.

Close the sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side facing out.


Toast the sandwich:


Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.

Place the sandwich on the pan and brown for about 2-3 minutes on each side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.


Serve: Cut the sandwich diagonally and serve warm.
