Steak with Salad, French Fries, and Egg and Rice Recipe


Ingredients


(Serves 2)


For the steak:


2 beef steaks (rump, sirloin, or top round, about 150g each)

2 cloves garlic, crushed

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon oil or butter

1/2 tablespoon soy sauce (optional)


For the egg:


2 eggs

Salt to taste

1 teaspoon butter or oil


For the french fries:


2 medium potatoes (cut into sticks)

Oil for frying

Salt to taste




For the rice:


1 cup white rice

2 cups water

1/2 small onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon oil

Salt to taste


For the salad:


1 sliced ​​tomato

1/2 onion, thinly sliced

Lettuce leaves (or (arugula, if preferred)

1 tablespoon olive oil

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Salt and oregano to taste


Preparation


1. Rice


: In a saucepan, heat the oil and sauté the onion and garlic until golden.

Add the rice and sauté for 1 minute.

Add the water and salt, stir, and cook over low heat with the lid ajar until the water evaporates (about 15 minutes).

Turn off the heat, cover the pan, and set aside.


2. French Fries:


Peel the potatoes and cut into sticks. Wash well to remove excess starch and pat dry.

Heat enough oil in a deep skillet or saucepan to cover the potatoes.

Fry the potatoes over medium-high heat until golden brown and crispy (about 8-10 minutes).

Drain on paper towels and season with salt. Set aside.


3. Steak:


Season the steaks with salt, black pepper, crushed garlic, and, if desired, a drizzle of soy sauce.

Heat a skillet with oil or butter over medium-high heat.

Fry the steaks for about 2-3 minutes per side (for rare) or longer if you prefer well-done.

Remove the steaks and set aside on a warm plate.


4. Egg:


In the same skillet as the steak (or in a different one), heat the butter or oil over medium heat.

Crack the eggs, season with a pinch of salt, and fry until the yolk reaches the desired doneness (about 2 minutes for runny yolk).

Set aside.


5. Salad:


On a plate, arrange the lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and onion.

Season with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and oregano. Toss gently.


Meal Assembly


: Place a portion of rice on a plate.

On the side, arrange the steak and fried egg on top or next to the steak.

Add the fries and salad on the side.

Serve immediately.
