Irresistible Steak with Egg: Succulent, Crispy, and Ready in 15 Minutes!
A classic Brazilian recipe that transforms a simple steak into an explosion of flavors: tender meat, a fried egg with a creamy yolk, and a golden touch. Perfect for a quick lunch or a comforting dinner.
Serves 2
Ingredients:
2 sirloin or rump steaks (about 150g each, at room temperature)
2 large eggs
2 cloves of minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
Optional: sliced onion for caramelizing and white rice or french fries as a side dish
Preparation:
Season the steaks: Rub salt, pepper, and minced garlic on both sides of the meat. Let it rest for 5 minutes while you heat the skillet.
Sear the meat:
In a very hot non-stick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter with the oil. Place the steaks and fry for 2-3 minutes per side (for rare) or 4-5 minutes (medium). Remove and set aside on a warmed plate.
Assemble the steak:
In the same skillet (use the remaining meat juices!), melt the remaining butter. Carefully crack the eggs and fry over medium heat until the whites are set but the yolks remain runny (1-2 minutes). Season with salt.
Epic finish:
Place a fried egg on top of each hot steak. Serve immediately with fluffy rice, beans, or French fries. Drizzle with the pan juices for extra shine!
Golden tip: Use high heat at the beginning to sear and retain the juices – the secret to succulence! Calories per serving: ~450. Enjoy!
