'Costa Fortuna' Spends the Day in Funchal
The cruise ship 'Costa Fortuna' arrived at the Port of Funchal this Wednesday, where it will remain until 6 p.m.
The ship, captained by Italian Antonio Tommaso Tateo and managed by Blatas, is on a 14-night cruise through the Mediterranean, the Spanish islands, and Madeira, carrying 2,767 passengers and 941 crew members, according to APRAM (Port Administration of the Autonomous Region of Madeira).
The voyage began on October 2nd in Barcelona, making stops in Marseille (France), Savona (Italy), and Malaga (Spain) before arriving in Funchal.
The ship returns to sea in the late afternoon, heading for Fuerteventura, visiting Arrecife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife (all in the Canary Islands) over the following days. It then returns to the Mediterranean, first to Cádiz, before returning to Barcelona on the 16th.
Until the late afternoon of Wednesday, October 8th, the Costa Fortuna will be joined by the Britannia, which spent the night in Barcelona from Tuesday to Wednesday. It returns to sea at 3:00 p.m., heading for Santa Cruz de La Palma (Canary Islands).
This is the first of two visits the Costa Fortuna is scheduled for this month to Madeira. The next is scheduled for the 26th.
With 22 years at sea, the ship was built in Italy by Fincantieri at a cost of 400 million euros. It was refurbished in 2018 and is scheduled for another renovation next year.
