The 'Allura' Brings Nearly 1,900 Guests to Funchal for Inaugural Port Visit


The cruise ship 'Oceania Allura' entered the Port of Funchal this Thursday morning for an 11-hour port call. Onboard are 1,885 guests, 1,106 of whom are passengers, enjoying a 34-day voyage that began on August 27th, departing from Civitavecchia, Rome, Italy, and ending in New York, United States, on September 30th.


According to APRAM, the 'Allura' is managed by JFM Shipping for this inaugural port call in Funchal, and is captained by Croatian Leo Lujak.






Operated by Oceania Cruises, a brand of Norwegian Cruise Line, the ship was built this year at the Fincatieri shipyard in Genoa, Italy, and after completing its maiden voyage in July, is currently on a repositioning cruise to the United States.


Before arriving in Funchal, it passed through the Italian ports of Salerno and Sicily, Valletta in Malta, visited Spain (Ibiza, Valencia, Barcelona, ​​Tarragona, Palma de Mallorca, Cartagena, Malaga, and Cadiz), visited France (Marseillan twice, and Cannes), stopped in Monte Carlo, Gibraltar, and Tangier (Morocco), and called at Portimão and Lisbon.


It continues its journey at 6 p.m., heading for Ponta Delgada, then visiting the island of Faial before crossing the Atlantic to Canada (St. Johns and Halifax) and the United States: Portland, Boston, Newport, and finally New York.


With capacity for up to 1,469 passengers and 800 crew members, the 'Allura' has three sister ships ('Vista', 'Marina', and 'Riviera') and cost 575 million euros.
