Over 11,000 People Visit Funchal Cruise Terminal
Today, the Funchal Port Cruise Terminal is seeing over 11,000 passengers and crew, with two cruise ships simultaneously calling: the Iona and the Ventura, both arriving from the United Kingdom.
The Iona, carrying 5,314 passengers and 1,714 crew, docked at 6:15 a.m. and is scheduled to depart for Santa Cruz de Tenerife at 4:30 p.m. The ship, captained by British captain Andrew John Wolverson, is on a 14-night cruise that began on September 20th, with stops in the Canary Islands, Andalusia, and Galicia, before returning to Southampton on October 4th.
Shortly before, at 5:30 a.m., the Ventura arrived, with 2,980 passengers and 1,180 crew on board. This vessel, commanded by James Alexander Brown, departs at 5:00 p.m. for Santa Cruz de La Palma. Also a 14-night voyage, the cruise includes stops at several Canary Islands, as well as stops in Cádiz and La Coruña.
