Caniçal prepares for festival in honor of Our Lady of Mercy
The village of Caniçal is counting down to one of the most anticipated moments of the year: the festival in honor of Our Lady of Mercy, which begins this Friday, with a cultural and religious program that promises to attract hundreds of visitors.
Over the past few days, local fishermen have been preparing the boats that, as is tradition, will take part in the emblematic maritime procession, one of the highlights of the celebrations.
Simultaneously, the final work is underway on decorating the streets, setting up the traditional food and drink stalls, and setting up the popular bumper car track, all elements that contribute to the parish's typical festive atmosphere.
The official start of the festival is scheduled for Friday, with musical entertainment provided by various artists, with the main attraction being the duo Nemanus.
