Easy to Make and Delicious Homemade Lemonade ππ©πππ© π
Ingredients:
4 large lemons (or 6 small ones) – Sicilian or Tahiti lemons are preferred
1 liter of ice water
1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
Ice to taste
Basil or mint leaves (optional, for a special touch)
Instructions:
Squeeze the lemons
Cut the lemons in half and squeeze the juice into a bowl, removing the seeds. Be careful not to drop any bitter pulp. Prepare the sugar syrup: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar with 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Let cool.
Mix everything together: In a pitcher, combine the lemon juice, sugar syrup, and the remaining ice water. Stir well.
Adjust the flavor: Taste and, if necessary, add more sugar or lemon juice, according to your preference.
Finish: Add ice and, if desired, a few basil or mint leaves for flavor.
Serve: Serve in glasses with ice and a lemon wedge for garnish.
Tip: For a lighter version, replace the sugar with sweetener or honey, adjusting the amount. If you prefer a carbonated lemonade, replace half the water with sparkling water. Makes about 4 servings. Enjoy!
