Crispy Chicken in the Air Fryer Recipe

Crispy Chicken in the Air Fryer Recipe

Ingredients

8 chicken sassami fillets (about 400 g)

1 egg

2 tablespoons of unsweetened natural yogurt

1 cup of homemade breadcrumbs

1 tablespoon of wheat flour

1 teaspoon of ground cumin

1 tablespoon of olive oil (or oil)

zest of ½ lemon

½ teaspoon of salt

freshly ground black pepper to taste

Preparation method

Season the sassami fillets with salt, cumin, lemon zest and freshly ground black pepper to taste.

In a bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and olive oil well — this makes the chicken crust crispier and golden. Transfer to a shallow dish. In a medium bowl, place the egg, yogurt, and wheat flour, season with a pinch of salt, and mix well with a wire whisk.

To bread the chicken: pierce a fillet with a fork, dip it in the beaten egg, and let the excess drip off. Then, coat it in the breadcrumbs, pressing firmly with your hand to cover the entire surface. Set the breaded fillet aside on a plate and repeat the process with the rest.

Preheat the Electrolux Air Fryer by Rita Lobo to 200 °C and set to bake for 20 minutes — the fillets will bake in two batches of 8 minutes.

Open the Air Fryer drawer and place 4 sassamis in the basket, one next to the other. Bake for 8 minutes, or until golden brown — there is no need to turn it halfway through. Note: depending on the size of the fillet, the time may vary a few minutes more or less; keep an eye on it!

Using tongs, transfer the browned chicken to a plate and bake the rest. Serve immediately.
