Microwave Potato Chips
Microwave potato chips really work and are a practical and surprisingly healthy alternative for those looking for a quick and tasty snack or appetizer without giving up the crunchiness of traditional snacks. With only thinly sliced potatoes, seasoned with salt and spices to taste, the microwave turns the slices into golden and crispy chips, perfect for satisfying the craving for a light and homemade snack. The result? Fewer calories and no additional fat.
Ingredients
400 g potatoes (+-3 units)
1 tablespoon olive oil (+-)
salt
Optional:
pepper
paprika (or other seasonings)
Preparation
First, wash the potatoes.
Then, peel them and cut them into thin slices using a mandoline (or sharp knife).
Soak the slices in cold water for thirty minutes.
Drain the water and place the slices on a clean dish towel (or paper towel) to absorb as much water as possible.
In a bowl, add the potatoes and drizzle with a little olive oil. Season to taste. We only used salt, but pepper and paprika are welcome. Mix well.
Place the slices on a shallow plate covered with parchment paper. Arrange the slices so that they are not stacked on top of each other.
Microwave at maximum power for 5/6 minutes. Check. The chips should be slightly golden and dry. Remove and repeat the same procedure with the remaining raw slices.
Let the chips cool. They will finish drying and hardening. Enjoy!
