 Mulled Wine Recipe - Christmas


Ingredients


Zest and juice of 1 orange

0.5 cup brown sugar

3 cinnamon sticks

1 tsp cloves

2.5 cm ginger root

1 bottle red wine

2 dl brandy

To serve:

1 tbsp sliced ​​almonds

mint leaves

0.5 orange slices





Preparation


1. Start by cutting the peel of an orange and squeezing out the juice. Add half a cup of brown sugar, 1 tsp cloves, 3 cinnamon sticks cut in half and 2 to 3 cm slices of ginger, and bring everything to a boil.

2. When the mixture starts to thicken, add 1 bottle of red wine and 2 decilitres of brandy, and let it boil for 10 minutes.

3. Finally, strain the mulled wine through a sieve, add some sliced ​​almonds, orange slices and mint leaves.
