Delicious Recipe for Stuffed Bananas with Shredded Meat and Cheese
Ingredients
To cook the meat:
250 g of shredded beef (we used flank steak, see tips)
water
2 cloves of garlic
1 onion (cut into 4 pieces)
salt
pepper
For the hogao sauce or tomato sauce:
olive oil
1 onion
1 clove of garlic
1/2 chopped red pepper
2 chopped tomatoes
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. paprika
salt
1 bouillon cube
parsley
For the bananas:
2 bananas (very ripe)
butter (or margarine)
grated cheese (to taste)
Preparation
Step 1 - For the meat:
In a pan, place the meat and cover with water until halfway. Add the onion and chopped garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook over medium heat for approximately 35 to 40 minutes (the cooking time depends on the type of meat).
Step 2 - Once cooked, remove the meat and let it cool. Reserve 1 cup of the cooking liquid.
Shred it with a fork.
Step 3 - For the hogao sauce:
Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
Step 4 - Add the chopped tomatoes and peppers and cook over low heat for 10 minutes.
Step 5 - Add the shredded meat and 1 cup of the liquid reserved from step 2. Mix. Add the stock cube, cumin and paprika. Cook over low heat until the water has evaporated a little. Finally, add the chopped parsley.
Step 6 - For the bananas:
Remove the peels and place them in a baking dish. Brush them with butter (or margarine). Bake at 180°C for 10 minutes.
Step 7 - Once the bananas are golden, remove them and cut them lengthwise. Stuff them with grated cheese and shredded meat and bake again for 3 minutes.
Step 8 - To decorate, sprinkle with chopped parsley. It's ready!
