Pastel de Nata Recipe 😊


Ingredients:


1 roll of puff pastry (you can buy it ready-made)

500 ml of fresh cream

6 egg yolks

250 g of sugar

60 g of wheat flour

250 ml of water

1 cinnamon stick

Zest of 1 lemon (only the yellow part)





Preparation:


Preheat the oven to 250°C.


Stretch the puff pastry and cut it into circles. Line tart or pastel de nata molds with the dough discs.

In a pan, mix the water with the sugar and cinnamon, and heat until it forms a syrup at the thread point.

Dissolve the flour in the cream and heat, stirring until it thickens.

Add the sugar syrup to the thickened cream, stirring well. Let it cool.

Mix the egg yolks into the cream, straining to avoid lumps.

Fill the puff pastry lined muffin cups with the custard.

Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and has some dark spots.

Let it cool a little before serving, and enjoy this Portuguese classic with a touch of cinnamon or powdered sugar!
