Meatballs in tomato recipe 😊👍

Ingredients:

500g ground meat (can be beef, pork or mixed)

1 egg

1/2 cup breadcrumbs or breadcrumbs

1/4 cup of milk

1 small onion chopped

2 cloves of garlic, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon of oregano

2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Oil for frying

Tomato sauce:

1 can of peeled tomatoes (400g) or 4 chopped ripe tomatoes

1 chopped onion

2 cloves of garlic, chopped

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon of sugar (optional, to adjust the acidity)

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves or parsley to finish

Preparation method:

Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano and parsley. Mix well with your hands until all the ingredients are well incorporated.

Modeling: With slightly damp hands, make balls the size of a walnut, pressing well to make them firm.

Frying: Heat the oil in a large frying pan and fry the meatballs over medium-high heat, turning to brown on all sides. No need to cook completely, just seal. Book.

Tomato Sauce: In the same frying pan, add a little more olive oil if necessary, and sauté the onion and garlic until golden. Add the peeled tomatoes and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 10 to 15 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and adjust the acidity with sugar if necessary.

Finishing: Place the meatballs back in the pan with the tomato sauce and cook over low heat for another 10 minutes, or until the meatballs are completely cooked and the sauce has reduced slightly.

Service: Finish with fresh basil or parsley leaves and serve with rustic bread or pasta of your choice.

Enjoy!
