Baked Cod with Cream Recipe ππΉπ·
Ingredients:
500g of desalted and shredded cod
500g of potatoes cut into small cubes
1 large onion, thinly sliced
3 cloves of minced garlic
400ml of cream (fresh cream)
50g of butter
2 tablespoons of wheat flour
500ml of milk
Olive oil for sautΓ©ing
Nutmeg to taste
Salt and black pepper to taste
Grated cheese for gratinating
Chopped parsley to finish
Preparation method:
Preparing the cod: If the cod is salted, soak it in water for 24 hours, changing the water several times. Then, shred the cod and set aside.
Frying the potatoes: Fry the diced potatoes until golden and soft. Drain and set aside.
Cod stew: In a pan, heat a little olive oil and sautΓ© the onion and garlic until golden. Add the shredded cod and mix well for a few minutes.
White sauce: Melt the butter in another pan, add the flour and stir well for 1-2 minutes until it forms a paste. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until you get a thick, lump-free sauce. Season with nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste. Finally, mix the cream into the white sauce.
Assembly: In a greased baking dish, spread a layer of French fries, then the sautΓ©ed cod and, on top, pour the white sauce with the cream. Mix lightly to integrate the ingredients.
Gratin: Cover with grated cheese and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C until the surface is golden and crispy, about 20 to 30 minutes.
Finishing: After removing from the oven, sprinkle chopped parsley on top and serve hot.
The combination of flavors in this dish is simply irresistible!
