Recipe for Egg Bread, the famous Japanese sandwich "tamago sando"

Have you heard of tamago sando? It's a Japanese egg bread that's all the rage in konbini (small Japanese mini-markets). Imagine perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs, mashed with a little Japanese mayonnaise, placed between two slices of bread. Simple and delicious, this "egg bread" sandwich is perfect for a quick lunch or snack. If you prefer to add more flavor, add some shredded chicken. Check out our recipe below:

Ingredients

4 slices of white bread (without crust)

3 eggs (boiled)

2 tablespoons of Japanese mayonnaise (Kewpie here)

1 tablespoon of milk

1 pinch of salt

1 pinch of sugar

1 pinch of pepper

Preparation

Boil the eggs in a pan of boiling water for 10 minutes. Let them cool in the pan or bowl of cold water. Then peel them.

In a bowl, mash the eggs.

*The size of the egg crumbs depends on your taste.

Add the mayonnaise, milk, salt, sugar and pepper.

Mix well.

Spread the mixture evenly over the 4 slices of sandwich bread and close the sandwiches. Refrigerate before serving.

Enjoy!
