Bolognese sauce, the real recipe!
Originating from Bologna, Italy, this sauce is perfect on spaghetti, and if you want to change it up you can make it with other types of pasta, and even with rice, couscous, quinoa, etc. Get started on the Bolognese!
Ingredients
250 g minced beef
250 g minced pork
100 g bacon
1 onion
1 carrot
1 celery stick
250 ml red wine
500 g tomato pulp
100 g tomato paste
200 ml beef stock
3 tablespoons olive oil
50 g butter
salt
pepper
Preparation
Melt the butter with the olive oil over low heat.
Add the onion, carrot and celery and let it sauté.
Add the beef and let it cook. Cut the bacon into pieces (if you bought it whole) and add to the mixture.
Add the pork and cook for a few minutes.
Pour in the red wine.
In a medium bowl, mix the tomato paste and the beef stock, add to the pan with the meat.
Finally, add the tomato pulp and mix everything well.
Leave to cook for 2 hours on low heat, uncovered. Stir from time to time.
Serve with pasta and grated parmesan.
