Portuguese Steak


Ingredients

1/2kg of sirloin steak

Oil to taste

Fine salt to taste

1 head of lettuce

Olive oil to taste

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste

1 tablespoon of butter

2 bay leaves

2 sprigs of thyme

1 slice of ham

Beef stock to taste

Mashed potatoes:

1/2kg of sour potatoes

Hot water to taste

1 clove of garlic

1 bay leaf

1 sprig of thyme

Olive oil to taste

1 tablespoon of olive paste

1 tablespoon of butter

Salt to taste

Pepper to taste





Preparation


1. For the mashed potatoes, start by cooking the potatoes in a stock with the garlic, bay leaf and thyme. Then remove the skin and strain the water.

2. Place the diced potatoes in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil. Add a little hot water and mash. Add the olive paste and butter. Mix well and season with salt and pepper.

3. Season the sirloin steak with a little oil and fine salt.

4. Add oil to a frying pan and cook the steak for 1 minute on each side.

5. To serve, drizzle the lettuce with olive oil and salt. Add another drizzle of olive oil to a frying pan and grill the lettuce.

6. Season again with salt and pepper.

7. Place the steak in the same frying pan again, and finish with another drizzle of oil, butter, bay leaves and thyme.

8. Use a ring to serve the mashed potatoes. Place the ham on top of the steak, serve with the lettuce and pour over the beef stock. Season with black pepper and it is ready to serve.
