Halloween cake recipe 👻👻

Ingredients for the cake:

Batter:

4 eggs

2 cups of sugar

1 cup of oil

1 cup of milk

2 and 1/2 cups of wheat flour

1 cup of cocoa powder

1 tablespoon of baking powder

Food coloring (optional: orange, black, purple)

Filling:

1 can of condensed milk

1 box of cream

4 tablespoons of cocoa powder

1 tablespoon of butter

200g of chopped strawberries (or red jelly to give the “bloody” effect)

Covering (Ganache):

300g of semisweet chocolate

200g of cream

Black food coloring (to intensify the color)

Decoration:

Fondant (orange, purple, black, white) or icing

Fondant pumpkins and skulls (optional)

Spider webs made of sugar (optional)

Chocolate candles (for the melted effect)

Edible Halloween photo (found in baking stores)

Preparation:

Batter:

Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease two round pans with butter and flour.

Beat the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the oil and milk and beat again.

Sift the dry ingredients (flour, chocolate and baking powder) and gradually add them to the batter, stirring gently.

If you want a special Halloween touch, divide the batter into two parts and add orange food coloring to one half and black food coloring to the other.

Distribute the batter into the pans and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool completely before unmolding.

Filling:

In a pan, add the condensed milk, cream, chocolate powder and butter. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens, forming a soft brigadeiro.

Let it cool and, if you want to give it a "bloody" effect, add chopped strawberries or red fruit jam when filling it.

Topping:

Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie or in the microwave and mix it with the cream until it forms a smooth ganache.

If you want a more dramatic topping, add a few drops of black food coloring to make the chocolate very dark.

Assembly:

Cut the cake in half to fill it. If you made layers with food coloring, the view will be incredible!

Spread the brigadeiro and strawberry filling between the layers and assemble the cake.

Cover the cake with the black ganache, smoothing the surface well.

For a special touch, shape spider webs out of sugar or fondant and decorate with bats and pumpkins made of fondant around the cake.

Edible photo:

Finally, add the edible photo on top. Make sure the surface of the cake is very smooth so that the image sticks well.

The photo should be applied over a thin layer of whipped cream or frosting to prevent it from absorbing the moisture from the cake.

Extra decoration:

You can also add drops of "blood" made with strawberry jam on the cake, giving it an extra scary touch. To do this, put some of the jam in a piping bag and make small spots or drips on the side.

This cake will be the center of attention at your Halloween party, with the edible photo catching everyone's eyes and the inside surprising with colors and flavors that refer to the date!
