Orange Jam Recipe 🍊🍊
Ingredients:
6 oranges
1 kg of sugar
Water
Preparation:
Wash the oranges well and cut them into four parts, keeping the peels. Remove the pulp, leaving only the peels.
Place the peels in a bowl with plenty of water and let them soak for 3 days, changing the water at least 3 times a day to remove the bitterness.
After this time, place the peels in a pan, cover with water and bring to a boil. Drain the water and repeat the process twice.
In a large pan, make a syrup with the sugar and 2 cups of water, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
Add the drained peels and cook over low heat until they are soft and the syrup thickens, which can take up to 2 hours.
Let cool and serve with a little syrup on top.
This sweet, with its soft texture and the balance between the sweet and bitterness of the rind, is a classic of Brazilian cuisine.
